The problem
What the average U.S. household pays for electric, gas, and water alone — before phone and internet. Bills that big, and that complex, are where errors hide.
Source: J.D. Power, 2025 ($412/mo)
Utility billing is designed to be opaque. Rate codes, demand charges, meter read adjustments, regulatory fees — most bills contain line items customers can't decipher, and providers count on that. When errors occur, the burden is on you to find them and formally dispute them within your state Public Utility Commission's window. Almost nobody does.
This isn't hypothetical. When billing errors surface, regulators force the money back:
refunded to AT&T customers for unauthorized charges (FTC)
T-Mobile cramming settlement, including consumer refunds (FTC)
returned to ~230,000 PG&E customers for improper billing (CPUC)
Aggregate enforcement actions, not individual results. Most customers never claim what they're owed — UtiliTrust does it for you.
How it works
Link your utility accounts or upload your bills. We support electric, gas, water, sewer, and cell phone providers across all 50 states.
Our system scans every line item for billing errors, unauthorized charges, rate miscalculations, and compliance violations. You get a clear report of what we found.
We file formal disputes with your providers on your behalf. You track the status in your dashboard. When credits or refunds are issued, we notify you immediately.
Most disputes resolve within 30–90 days. We handle every follow-up — you don't make a single phone call.

Common questions
Yes. $5/month covers every utility account you connect to UtiliTrust — electric, gas, water, sewer, and cell phone. The price does not increase based on the number of accounts or the number of disputes we file. One flat fee. Everything included. The $5/month founding member rate is available exclusively to customers who join the waitlist before our public launch. After launch, the standard rate is $15/month, and your founding rate is locked in for as long as you remain a subscriber.
Utility companies in every state are regulated by a Public Utility Commission (PUC) that sets legally binding rules for billing accuracy and dispute resolution. When we identify a billing error, we file a formal dispute on your behalf under those regulations — the same process a lawyer or large corporation would use, but one that individual customers almost never navigate on their own. Depending on the error type, resolutions come as account credits, refund checks, or rate adjustments on future bills. Most disputes resolve within 30–90 days.
Then you've paid $5 for the peace of mind of knowing your utilities are billing you correctly — and you'll have ongoing monitoring that catches any errors that appear in the future. We don't manufacture disputes. We only file when we find a legitimate billing error that is recoverable under your state's regulations.
Your billing documents are encrypted in transit and at rest. We use your billing data exclusively to perform audits and file disputes on your behalf — we do not sell it, share it with advertisers, or use it for any purpose outside the service you've signed up for. You can request deletion of your data at any time from your account settings. Our full privacy policy is available at /privacy.
We're building coverage for electric, gas, water, sewer, and telecom providers across all 50 states. Cell phone billing disputes are handled under FCC truth-in-billing rules, which apply nationwide regardless of your carrier. If you're unsure whether your specific provider is covered, email us at hello@utilitrust.com before joining and we'll confirm.
Yes. UtiliTrust serves commercial customers including small businesses, property managers, and multi-site operators. Commercial billing is where errors are most costly and least likely to be caught — rate structure complexity, demand charge miscalculations, and multi-meter billing errors can represent thousands of dollars per year. Commercial accounts are handled separately from our residential plans. Contact us at hello@utilitrust.com for details on commercial pricing and service scope.
Who we are
K6 Labs builds products that help people and businesses recover money they're legally owed but rarely know how to claim. UtiliTrust grew directly from that mission: utility billing is one of the most opaque and error-prone corners of consumer finance, and most customers have no practical way to challenge it.
We do.
